Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Read and write Hiragana, Katakana, and around 100 basic Kanji characters
  • Understand basic grammar structures and sentence patterns
  • Engage in simple conversations (introductions, shopping, asking for directions)
  • Comprehend and respond to familiar everyday expressions
  • Prepare effectively for the JLPT N5 exam

Course Content Includes:

  • Writing systems: Hiragana, Katakana, and basic Kanji
  • Vocabulary: ~800 essential words
  • Grammar: Basic sentence structure, particles, verb conjugations (polite form)
  • Speaking & Listening: Pronunciation, greetings, common dialogues
  • Reading & Writing: Simple texts, short messages, and practice exercises

Duration:

  • Typically 12–16 weeks (flexible depending on the learning pace)

This beginner-level course is designed for students who are new to the Japanese language. It focuses on building a solid foundation in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, aligned with the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N5 standard.
